We invite you to be part of the Family Economics and Financial Education Trainings designed “by educators…for educators” giving educators the skills and confidence to teach financial education, ultimately empowering future generations to be financially literate and savvy consumers.

 

Each of FEFE’s trainings is designed with you, the classroom educator, in mind. FEFE’s training model:

  • Provides interactive workshops led by current classroom educators, our FEFE National Master Educator Team, modeling lesson plan activities

  • Creates networking opportunities for meaningful and relevant discussions about best practices within the financial literacy classroom

  • Offers an abundance of ready-to-teach curriculum materials designed by educators

One-Day Content Update Trainings

  • FEFE conducts several content update trainings throughout the year.


FEFE National Training, June 25-28, 2012 in Tucson, AZ

  • A premier event in Tucson, Arizona -- home to FEFE headquarters which is guaranteed to:

    • Reward and recognize educators through amenities offered by the world-class Omni Tucson National Resort.

    • Inform participants - connect with industry and university experts as they discuss cutting-edge research and trends from keynote speakers.

    • Attract educators nationwide creating a diverse and comprehensive experience.

FEFE Training at Iowa State University, July 24-26, 2012 in Ames, IA

  • This training is in partnership with Iowa State University, GEAR UP Iowa, and Iowa Insurance Division.  

  • Iowa teacher licensure renewal and ISU graduate credit will be available

Maryland Opportunities

 

Junior Achievement, Family Economics & Financial Education (FEFE) and the Maryland State Department of Education have teamed up to offer training opportunities created specifically with you in mind to make a difference in how America’s youth think about money. The trainings are designed to provide educators with the skills and confidence to teach financial education, ultimately empowering future generations to be financially literate and savvy consumers. 

 

The East Coast Training August 6-8 at Towson University in Towson, Maryland. 

  • This intensive training experience modeled after the National Training designed especially with educators new to FEFE in mind.

    • Engaging sessions will be led by FEFE National and Maryland State Educator Teams

    • An incredible line-up of keynote speakers including leading national experts from the Center for Financial Services Innovation will share their expertise.

    • Reward and recognize educators

New and Updated Resources training, August 7 at Towson University in Towson, Maryland

  • This training is designed for educators nationally who have previously attended an extensive FEFE 3 or 4-day training including the FEFE National Training in Tucson, AZ or the East Coast 3-Day Educator training in Baltimore, Maryland. This interactive training will focus upon:

    • Discussion of best practices among those who actively use the FEFE curriculum;

    • Analysis of new and updated lesson plans from the previous year including experiencing the activities;

    • Creating awareness about educator support resources.

Elementary School Teachers Opportunity, August 6-7 at Towson University in Towson, Maryland

  • Join Junior Achievement and its partner organizations to discover programs and resources that will help students learn basic economics in fun and age appropriate ways. Educators will learn how to integrate activities and programs, aligned to the common core, into existing curriculum. Participants will leave with tools that will engage students and discover how volunteers can support student learning during the school day and beyond.
